Ahhh Greg
Melbourne at this time of the year is really not too bad. If I didn't have some unavoidable commitments then I would be on my way for that one. :)

Yes Matt, it is early autumn, but a few trees have started to turn. Autumn (IMHO) is the best time of year in Melbourne, we get crisp sunny days, beautiful colours, the whole nine yards.

I will be there! Does anyone know if there is free all day parking in Birdwood Ave on a Sunday?? Assuming we will be all day! If not, where is the next best place to park?

Just gone through the 5 pages of the original thread, and looks like the parking is free!

Greg, do you think you could bring along one of the D70 user straps for me to have a look at? I'm interested! Thankyou!

I'm looking forward to this, a chance to take some pics without the kids! Oh, and of course to meet everyone! See you there (I hope I'm not late, I'm not a morning person!!)

Will do stormy. Don't know about the parking, but there should be something around there on a sunday morning that isn't too restrictive.

Any chance I can get a CCD clean while I'm at the meet? I haven't taken a shot since I got back home, haven't managed to take the camera in to get cleaned and I'm sick of cloning out bunnies..

Just curious......

Do the straps have "D70users.com" on them? Or just "D70users"?

PW, you really need to do a cleaning in a controlled environment, and be able to take test shots and check them on a computer monitor. When Onyx did a clean at Birdy's place, there were streaks after the first couple of cleans which had to be removed.

I don't think that outdoors is the place to be doing this sort of thing.

You can still use forum.d70users.com, and thereafter it reverts to d70users.net. Anyway the straps are very comfortable on, in comparison to the original Nikon straps that come with the D70, and especially with heavier lenses on. Check it out with Greg B tomorrow. BTW: the weather in Adelaide is surperb, fine and not a cloud in the sky with autumn coolness in the light wind. Tomorrow should be a ripper in Melbourne.

Have a great day,
fozzie

Yes indeed, the straps are all about function, the d70Users logo is just a bonus.

Thanks for that weather report Fozzie, it bodes well for a delightful day.

If their popular when Birdy runs out of stock, we maybe have to get them done with the DSLR Users.com logo... when I'm done with it, of course.

yes i did piro,
i was lucky not to get hurt today,
i was standing in a high risk area with another video cam guy, when one of the cars kicked up something and had missed his eye by an inch. left him with a bleeding spot and no vision for 30 minutes in that eye. :(

Good fun folks, let's start organising the next one. Something that involves eating and drinking perhaps. :D Or it could be photography if absolutely necessary. Or all of the above.

(And thanks to those who pointed out the slight imprecision of my sig - I have now included "approximately" to account for the numerical superiority of women, and the wholly or partly knackerless among the males :D )

Dude, I tried google and it brought back 100 results that I didn't want. This wasn't even in the results :)

But I had found the resulting webpage which is cs.ubc.ca anyway before you posted this.
