Postby biggerry on Wed Jan 11, 2012 9:57 pm

Hey Ya'all, I need to get my fix of sunrise action for January, Suren and I did South Head a long time ago, for me it was a pretty ordinay session and I am keen to get back there to try again.

If anyone is keen, come along.

Location: South Head (its a bit of a walk)
Time: early :) probably aim to be at the location by 5:15am Jan 15th Sunday.
Official sunrise time is 5:59am.
Weather is forecast to be a bit rainy and cloud, potentially good oil there.

Tide is low at 7:30 and the swell is medium.

PM me for the meeting spot other wise see yas there!

Hey Gerry - I'll try and make it (either day). If it is on Sat however I'll have to leave straight away (have to be home by 8:40AM).

I just looked through the last lot of images made here. It's got quite a few options for subject matter...

The sun will rise at an acute angle requiring you to walk around the rocks to the south (ish) and the low tide will aid in this. Just watch out for those drug smugglers we saw last time....

Sun? What sun?

It's pissing down, here in Bondi, just a couple of K from South Head.

i chickened out (along with Gary (elver)) but Rodney and his mate showed dedication for the cause, they did get a small break in the weather apparently. Kudos to them  .

Yes it looked very grim - it was pouring rain in the city when I was driving there.

As luck would have it - it wasn't raining when I arrived at South Head and since I packed a raincoat and carried an umbrella on my walk around to the lighthouse it didn't rain the whole time we were there and only started to rain again when we were about 100m from the car on the way out.

We got a few breaks in the clouds but there wasn't much of a show at sunrise - I got a few shots I liked and will post something up soon.
