Thats a good idea but perhaps better with some organisation and clearance? It says "no bulky items" because the crowd is surrounded by fire and space is thus limited. Tripod might be tricky but necessary.

Thats interesting Wendell, I will be keen to come along, but which day are you planning it on?

I can't make it on the 20th of Jan, then the 21st I think we all have a picnic meet with DSLRU members...

Apart from the 20th, I'm okay I think. It starts by 6.30pm at the olympic park right?

hi heath

i shot at olympic park last year it is tight with lots of people and i hardly used my tripod

the display is bright enough to shoot handheld at higher iso
othwrwise actually shooting behind the crowd is good too as it's a wide display

yip i'm o.k with whatever date your o.k with

it should be fun

I've rechecked, I'm available on all 3 days.

I'd pick 19th first, then 20th and 21th in this order of preference. :)

Oh well, I'm heading out by now, anyone coming contact Wendell or myself if you have either of our numbers.

If not, just show up at the venue and should not be too hard to spot the unusual suspects with black cameras...
